GRAZIA DELEDDA, PREMIO NOBEL PER LA LETTERATURA
Nativa di Nuoro, penultima di sei figli, Grazia Deledda esordì nel mondo letterario giovanissima, dando alle stampe il suo primo romanzo, “Fior di Sardegna” (1892), ad appena 21 anni.
Del 1913 è il suo romanzo più famoso, “Canne al Vento”, che, sullo sfondo della brulla terra sarda, affronta le tematiche della povertà, dell’onore e della profonda superstizione. Grazie ai suoi libri – pubblicati in tutte le lingue – le venne conferito nel 1926 il Premio Nobel per la Letteratura.

A native of Nuoro and the youngest of six children, Grazia Deledda was just 21 years old when she wrote her first novel, ‘Fior di Sardegna’ (1892). Her most famous novel is ‘Canne al Vento’ (1913), which, set in the barren land of Sardinia, deals with issues of poverty, honor, and profound superstition. Thanks to her literary contribution – published in every language – she was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1926.
