Tra gli straordinari edifici che portano la sua firma, il Centre Georges Pompidou a Parigi, la ristrutturazione del Porto Antico di Genova, il Museo delle Scienze e Tecnologie di Amsterdam, la ricostruzione di Potsdamer Platz a Berlino, il grattacielo del New York Times a New York. Tra i numerosi riconoscimenti tributatigli, il Premio Pritzker nel 1998, ritenuto il più prestigioso a livello mondiale nel campo architettonico.

Among the most famous buildings signed by him there are the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the restoration of the Ancient Port in Genoa, the Museum of Sciences and Technologies in Amsterdam, the rebuilding of Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, the New York Times skyscraper in New York. Among the large number of prizes that have been awarded to him we can mention the Pritzker Prize in 1998, which is considered the most prestigious award for architecture in the world.
