RAMBALDI, IL GENIO ITALIANO DIETRO E.T.
Se il suo nome è soprattutto legato al piccolo e tenero E.T., l’italiano Carlo Rambaldi è considerato uno dei più famosi creatori di effetti speciali per il cinema a livello mondiale. Ferrarese di nascita ma americano d’adozione, Rambaldi è insieme artista e artigiano: un vero e proprio talento a cui dobbiamo gli “Incontri del terzo tipo” di Spielberg, il “King Kong” di Guillermin, l’”Alien” di Ridley Scott. Un lavoro eccezionale, che nel corso della sua ormai cinquantennale carriera gli è valso ben tre premi Oscar: il primo arriva con il film “King Kong” di John Guillermin del 1976, per il quale crea il gigantesco gorilla di 12 metri; successivamente, nel 1979, per “Alien” di Ridley Scott contribuisce all’ideazione della creatura aliena divenuta poi celebre; nel 1982, infine, crea il suo capolavoro, commuovendo il mondo intero con il suo piccolo extra-terrestre “firmato” Spielberg.

His name is especially linked to the cute, little E.T., the Italian Carlo Rambaldi is considered one of the most famous artists of special effects for cinema in the world. He was born in Ferrara, but he moved to the USA. Rambaldi is an artist and a craftsman at the same time: to his talent we owe ‘Close Encounters of the Third Type’ by Spielberg, ‘King Kong’ by Guillermin and ‘Alien’ by Ridley Scott. His exceptional works have been awarded three Oscars in his fifty-year-long career: the first Award came for the movie ‘King Kong’ by John Guillermin in 1976, for which he created the enormous, 12 m. high gorilla; in 1979 for ‘Alien’ by Ridley Scott in which he contributed to develop an alien which became world-famous; finally, in 1982 he created his masterpiece with his small extraterrestrial character which moved the entire world for the movie by Spielberg.
