THE METER, AN INGENIOUS INTUITION FROM BELLUNO
The problem of figures has been troubling men since ancient times: feet, inches, days, steps are just some of the units of measurements which have been used over the centuries. Nevertheless,we owe to Tito Livio Burattini, mathematician and cartographer who was born in Agordo (Belluno) the first concrete formulation of the need for a sole system of measurement which had to be uniform, accessible and ever-lasting.
