MARGHERITA HACK, UNA VITA TRA LE STELLE
Nel 2013 l’Italia tutta ha pianto la scomparsa di Margherita Hack, la “signora delle stelle”. Nata a Firenze, era considerata una delle astrofisiche italianepiù importanti, ma soprattutto viene ricordata come la prima donna chiamata a dirigere un osservatorio astronomico in Italia. Membro dell’Accademia dei Lincei, dell’Unione Internazionale Astronomi e della Royal Astronomical Society, ha fornito, nella sua lunga carriera,un grande contributo alla ricerca per lo studio e la classificazione spettrale di molte categorie di stelle.

LIFE AMONG THE STARS
In 2013 all of Italy mourned the loss of Margherita Hack, the ‘lady of the stars.’ Born in Florence, she was considered one of the most important Italian astrophysicists in history, but is remembered above all as the first woman to administer an astronomical observatory in Italy. A member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, the International Astronomical Union, and the Royal Astronomical Society, during her long career she made great contributions to the research and study of the spectral classification of many categories of stars
